I live in Croghan, NY a wonderful rural community bordering the Adirondacks. Photography has been a hobby of mine for many years thanks to my Dad's encouragement and philosophy of:
"A good photographer always has their camera with them."
Though I've been thankful for that challenge, I've taken a different approach. I like to intensionally leave my camera behind to simply enjoy the beauty of life and not get stuck in "capture" mode.
Yet on other days photography helps me slow down and see more clearly the wonder and beauty around me - pausing, paying attention, noticing the light illuminating the world...from simply walking in the forrest and crawling on the ground, to engaging another in a portrait session. This balance continues to be life giving - both helping me see more clearly and celebrate with quality images what I'm seeing.
My journey continues to be one of gratitude, learning, and discovery.
